What is SEO?

When people ask me what we do in front of the computer, the question often comes up, what is SEO? First of all, SEO means "Search Engine Optimization" in English, and in good English - Search Engine Optimization. Created by several processes, it constitutes the result and the term "visibility" online, in other words - SEO makes websites visible! It's all about helping search engines find the right material for any search query. Everyone knows that when you search for something, you're bound to come across something similar to what you're looking for.

How does SEO work?

Let's start as simply as a homepage, because this is where every SEO journey begins. "Home on your site". Okay, you've just bought or created a website, and the questions start coming. Why am I not getting enough visits to the site? Why isn't anyone ordering from me or filling out a contact form? Why don't I see increasing traffic?

All the questions that are piling up are real. BUT, and it's a capitalized but, how are people going to find you when they don't know about you? If you haven't jumped on the Ads bandwagon or started to technically set up your site to be found, well then chances are you're not likely to be on page 40 on Google, or worse.

What is organic search?

It's organic searches that you lose the chance to be part of when you don't have an implemented SEO strategy. An organic search is not paid, but is what is known as a "free" search. It arises from the natural connections between content and keywords. In fact, no one can get to the top of organic searches by advertising. It's just that money can't help you here. Here it's just because SEO makes you visible!

Search optimization from the inside out

We can easily break this down into a few steps, so let's start from the beginning. Your website needs to be search optimized. We're talking about performing technical SEO on the page. Steering all your content in the direction of the searcher. Then it's also important to keep the content interesting in advance of what you're doing. It's simply descriptions of what you have on the page that will be sent out to the audience. This is how search engines scan your site and use the content to determine who should see the results of their searches.

That generally explains the technical part of SEO. Search engine optimization probably doesn't just stop there, no.

What is SEO? | Backlinks
SEO and Backlinks explained

Have you heard of backlinks, or link building in English? These are links that throw out information to the various search engines. It used to be the case that most of them made very exaggerated attempts to have as many of these as possible. But this turned into something comparable to spam that you get in your email, and that's not something you want linked to your own site. So what is SEO? It's something you can't avoid, but you shouldn't abuse the resources around it either.

SEO makes you visible, and today the quality of links counts more than ever. Search engines are determined to provide a good user experience to their searchers, hence the word search engine optimization, and so they choose sites they trust. But if you have bad links to your site, it's actually the same as in middle school. If you hung out with the wrong crowd, your teachers put you in a box and your parents told you to stop hanging out with them. The search engines do the same with your site if you have such links lying around, you will be blocked and it can result in lost traffic. It can actually go so far that you get a penalty where traffic is reduced as a percentage. It can take time to fix something like this.

Domain authority, what does it mean for your SEO?

Domain Authority (DA) is a search engine ranking developed by Moz that predicts how likely a website is to rank on search engine results pages (SERPs). A DA score ranges from one to 100, with higher scores indicating that you have a greater chance of ranking higher overall.

DA is calculated by evaluating several factors, including linking root domains and the number of total links, into a single DA score. This score can then be used when comparing websites or tracking the "ranking strength" of a website over time. DA is not a metric used by Google to determine search rankings and has no impact on the SERPs, but it is such that it clearly gives one page authority over another. This is because then one page is perhaps more credible than the other.

Everyone wants to be able to offer a credible page, and especially so that the search engines can find you and present your content to the rest of the world. Good search engine optimization includes a plan for such "off-page" work processes. In other words, processes within SEO where you don't work directly on the website, but outside of it.

Search engine optimization via articles and blogs

This can have a huge impact on the page, if done correctly. Both on-page and off-page. What do I mean by that? If you blog and create your own articles, you can create content that is related to your website, use the right words and leave what your customers can expect if they search for similar content. If you want to build good links to your own website to create a good SEO flow for yourself, it works very well to contact other bloggers or someone in your network to ask them to link to your site.

So, what is SEO? It's not easy, but if you follow the right strategies, set clear goals and know how the processes work, you can get the results you want. It's time-consuming and takes resources, but in the long run it's more than worth it!
